SAVE THE DATE!!
We are organizing a Bradford Backpack Team Community Builder for Bradford families to show our support and appreciation to Toni’s Kitchen for the wonderful assistance they provide families in our community.
When: Tuesday, December 21, 2021 @ 5:30pm
Who: Bradford families
What: Each family will provide enough food items to fill the designated number of backpacks costing approximately $20-$30 per family i.e. 10 jars of peanut butter. We will meet at Kidville, have a short educational moment for the kids, stuff the backpacks and then have time for kids to play in the gym.
Where: Kidville Montclair, 516 Valley Road (right next door to ACME)
How: If you’re interested in taking part in this community builder please contact Karen Greenwald at email@example.com to sign up by Friday, December 17th. Please note that you can choose to just donate food items to fill the backpacks if you cannot attend the event and/or if you feel more comfortable that way. Once Karen hears back from everyone, she will assign each person items to purchase.
**Temperature checks will be taken and masks will be required of all attendees.

ABOUT KWANZAA AT THE MONTCLAIR PUBLIC LIBRARY
Founded by Dr. Maulana Karenga in 1966, Kwanzaa is the seven-day African American festival that celebrates culture, family, and community from December 26 to January 1. Since 1989, Montclair Public Library has hosted a Kwanzaa event. The event grew yearly and has become an important part of the Library’s winter programming, cultivated by former MPL staff members Brother Saalik Cuevas and Matilda Williams. The coronavirus pandemic required the Library to adapt in 2020 with the virtual program “Harambee! Songs and Stories for Kwanzaa with April Armstrong,” and in 2021 with a primarily outdoor Winter Market. 2021 will be the 32nd year of the Library celebrating Kwanzaa with the Montclair community.
MLK Day of Service
The PTA has started planning for our MLK day of service and we are looking for recommendations of community groups we can partner with for our student activities and/or donations. If you have any suggestions please reach out to Campbell Minister at campbellministerdesign.com or Sapana Patel at firstname.lastname@example.org.
