Dear Families/Caregivers and Staff,
The video our staff has created showcasing a glimpse of hybrid instruction is now available for you to view. I also wanted to be sure you had the correct dates for our next steps as well as some new information.
Hybrid Classroom Video
The hybrid classroom video demonstrates the classroom set-up for Dual Modality Teaching. In the video you will see how the teacher engages with both the in-person students as well as those learning virtually. All teachers will receive Professional Development on strategies for Dual Modality Teaching before students return to school.
Important Dates

- Dec. 1: Last date to change from Remote to Hybrid for PreK-5 for the second trimester

Temperature Check Threshold
Our threshold for temperatures will decrease from 100.4 to 100 degrees. As our hand-held and walk-through scanners are external readings, the temperature readings are low. We are adjusting our guidelines to take that into consideration. All of our scanners will be reset to the 100 degree threshold before doors open.

As we approach a return to our buildings, we ask for your patience as guidance from the state and health authorities is ever-changing. We are making decisions based on a review of all the data at hand from the New Jersey Department of Education, the New Jersey Health Department, the Montclair Heath Department, and our medical team. Central Office is working with the administrators in the buildings and the Montclair Education Association to provide our students a high-quality educational experience.
Stay well and stay safe,
Dr. Jonathan Ponds
