MONDAY, 11/16, 7 PM:
DRAG QUEEN STORY HOUR
CHB is THRILLED to welcome Miss Harmonica Sunbeam for a fabulous virtual story time event. Drag Queen Story Hour is not so different than any other story hour, it’s just taken up a notch. A range of books, both classics and newer titles, will be read as Miss Harmonica celebrates all the ways that we are unique.
Drag Queen Story Hour (DQSH) is just what it sounds like—drag queens reading stories to children in libraries, schools, and bookstores. DQSH captures the imagination and play of the gender fluidity of childhood and gives kids glamorous, positive, and unabashedly queer role models. In spaces like this, kids are able to see people who defy rigid gender restrictions and imagine a world where all people can present as they wish.
