CHB PTA PRESENTS:
Parent Workshop: Coping Skills
With Dr. Mel, Ph.D.
Wednesday, March 10, 8:00 PM via Zoom
Let’s face it. This past year has been a HUGE roller coaster of emotions for EVERYONE. Our kids are SO sick of zoom calls. They miss the fun childhood stuff like real birthday parties, playdates with friends, giggling fests with friends, and pick-up football games at recess. And us parents….OMG!!! We’ve become homeschool teacher, cheerleader, therapist, and mediator all in one. Don’t forget a lot of us are still working too. So, it goes without saying that we need coping skills! For our kids AND for us!!!
This workshop will focus on identifying the areas where your kids may be struggling, understanding what YOUR kid needs to cope with this situation (because one size fits all just doesn’t work), and giving parents concrete tools to support your kids and help them develop coping skills for themselves during this time. We will also shine the spotlight on ourselves for a bit to make sure we, as parents are doing ok, because we ALL know that if our cups are empty, we won’t have anything to give to our kids. This will be fun, interactive, and informative!

See you!
A group of Montclair parents is trying to organize a town-wide student newspaper. We aim to put together a sort of “special issue” (in print) that will allow the kids to write in a journalistic way about their experience during the pandemic. Here is a recent article about the project from Montclair Local. Jaime Bedrin is hoping to coordinate article submissions from interested CHB students of all ages. We are hoping even the youngest kids will participate in some way. If you have a child who might have interest in participating, you can let the organizers know by writing montclairkidsnews@gmail.com
And if you have any questions feel free to contact Jaime at jbedrin@gmail.com
Montclair Public School District 101
The Montclair PTA Council (PTAC) is pleased to launch “Montclair Public School District 101”for parents, caregivers, and families. The guide consolidates some of the most critical information about the school district in one place, is easy to read, and provides links to other resources and documents. We anticipate this document will be revised and updated over time, and we look forward to your feedback.
