Message from the Bullock PTA After-School Enrichment (ASE) Committee
Save the date for an outdoors ASE session at CHB!
The PTA ASE Committee will hold a five-week after-school enrichment (ASE) session outdoors this spring at Bullock. Classes will run from the weeks of April 19 through May 17 (once a week on a Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday from 3:30 to 4:30 PM), take place on the CHB playground/field area and blacktop, and follow Covid safety protocols. The class schedule – which will include offerings in art, STEM, and more – is forthcoming. Financial aid for one class per student is available for anyone who needs it.
Calling all parents and caregivers. We are excited to make this first ever session of Spring ASE happen but we need your help. Volunteers are needed to act as on-site admin for ASE. This would include, but not limited to, doing temperature checks at sign in; directing children to their designated area; and ensuring social distance guidelines are being practiced. We will need volunteers to work shifts from 3:00 to approximately 5:00 on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.
If you are a parent or guardian interested in volunteering or have questions on volunteering please email us at chbenrichment@gmail.com
If you are a parent or guardian interested in teaching a class as part of the program, please reach out as soon as possible to Sarah Hudson-Plush at shudsonplush@gmail.com.
Any general questions about the program can be directed to chbenrichment@gmail.com.
As we continue to celebrate Women’s History Month, BARET would like to recognize Jane Elliot for her contributions in education of diversity and prejudice behaviors.

MFEE FundRACER 4.0
Clash of the Quaranteamteams!
We swore that the MFEE Amazing FundRACER 3.0 would be our last, but after we’ve all been battling a global pandemic, we realized we had to offer an opportunity to test all those skills you’ve developed in quarantine WITH your quaranTEAMS!
That’s right. The MFEE Amazing FundRACER 4.0 Clash of the Quaranteams is coming on Sunday, May 23rd, and this time you can race with your family, close friends, or whoever you’ve been quaranteaming with. Groups of up to six (including members of ANY age) will face off in this signature town-wide race with some added twists and turns that will honor COVID safety protocols and ensure a fun time – all while raising critical funds to support our schools and boost MFEE’s initiatives to address racial equity.
We want as many people to join as possible! Trust us, we’ve had plenty of time to plot out how to manage many racers safely, so we are able to accommodate many teams. For starters, racers will travel in their own cars, and we’ll have staggered legs to maintain smaller group sizes.
We’d LOVE to have you join us on this new, incredibly fun (and safe!) race course we’re designing. Who couldn’t use a little outdoor fun with the people you’ve gotten to know so well (for better or for worse) these past 12 months?
MFEE IS HIRING!
Help wanted! The Montclair Fund for Educational Excellence (MFEE) is hiring 3 part-time temporary Community Health Workers (CHWs) to execute a broad COVID Vaccine Awareness Campaign shaped by and designed for Black and Brown community members.
The goal is to develop, with BIPOC leaders and residents, engaging messaging and to creatively design a multi-modal communication strategy. CHWs will also partner with local groups to provide assistance with registration/transportation for those who want to get vaccinated. MFEE will serve as the connector to engage groups, leaders and messengers. Applicants must have close ties to Montclair’s BIPOC community. To learn more and apply, visit http://bit.ly/mfeechw.
This project is funded by the Partnership for Maternal and Child Health of Northern New Jersey, a regional grantee of the NJ Department of Health.
Bedtimes Stories – We have two more sessions of “Bedtime Stories” coming up.
March 18th – K-2
March 25th – 3-5
Of course, everyone is always welcome to join. So get your jammies and get ready to snuggle up with a good book or two. Zoom information will be sent in a reminder email prior to the event.
