Welcome to the Edgemont community! We are small but mighty!
The Edgemont PTA is a collaboration between parents/caregivers and school staff to create the best school environment possible for our children, both in and out of the classroom. We are able to do this in a large part due to a strong relationship with our principal and school staff.
Our small school serves as our own village, with everyone working together to build a community that is supportive, inclusive and enjoyable!
Montclair is a town known for its diversity and stigma-free community, and Edgemont mirrors that spirit; the PTA is everyone, from stay-at-home parents to working parents, and each parent who contributes makes our school that much richer an environment for our children.
These are some of the programs we offer:•A school-wide reading program that provides a free book for every student in the school
•Alternative seating to enhance and differentiate the learning experience for upper-grade classrooms
•Technology, books, supplies, and Montessori materials for our teachers
•Reimagining our library space into a Learning Commons which integrates technology and a MakerSpace with traditional research-based library science
•Enrichment programs for the whole school year (2-3 sessions)
•Scholarships for enrichment and Edgemont special events for families in need of assistance
•Special events such as Hispanic Heritage Month Celebration, Harvest Day, the Halloween Mash, Book Fair, Movie Night, Black History Month Celebration, AAPI Month Celebration, Edgemont’s Talent Show, Fun Day and more
•Parent learning workshops, featuring our teachers in their classrooms
•Enhancements to our children’s learning environment, through grants for our teachers
