Dear Glenfield Families,

We are back! We hope you had a summer full of reflection and that maybe, just maybe time stood still in a good way. Despite being thrown buckets of stressful unknown elements for months, here we are ready to successfully start another school year.

PLEASE JOIN US FOR THE FIRST ZOOM OF THE YEAR ON WEDNESDAY SEPTEMBER 23RD from 5:30-7 pm. All are welcome. Link to follow.

We worked a lot over the summer to figure out how we are going to support admin, teachers and families the best we can despite the obvious limitations. Things are going to be different. We are primarily a leadership team of outgoing 8th grade parents so we will also be working on a transition plan. We would also like to acknowledge and create a space to safely discuss race and social justice in our community.

What’s different for us:
We will be meeting virtually and would like to restructure the PTA to better suit the current environment of virtual learning.

What’s the same:
We are supporting the administration, teachers and ALL families as best as we can.

Some things we will cover:

• Syreeta Carrington will talk with us about Restorative Justice at Glenfield
• Establishing a broader leadership committee through PTA/SATp
• Priorities for 2020-21
• Open positions and getting ready for leadership transition (WHO CAN HELP US HEAD UP SPIRITWEAR? PLEASE LET US KNOW – SYSTEMS ARE ALREADY IN PLACE, WE JUST NEED YOU TO TAKE IT ON!)
• Funding and fundraising

Thank you to all families and caregivers who have continued to support our school and community during this time. As challenging as times have been, it’s always a little easier when you’re lucky enough to be surrounded by so many people who care. See you on Wednesday the 23rd.
