1. Successful early year events:
  1. Beautification Committee’s revitalization of Hillside grounds.
    1. Special thank you to Megan Reilly and YardBird Montclair for their help!
    2. The committee has done several clean ups in July, August and September. Megan Reilly donated a crew to clear brush and level the garden on Hillside Ave, the committee and volunteers weeded and planted and water the areas in the front and side of the school. We’re holding another weeding session this Saturday from 5-7 pm.
    3. We’ve made a request for funding to help us maintain the gardens and purchase mulch, soaker system for watering, garden obelisks and container refreshed each season. We can always use donations from families. Email beautification@hillsidepta.org

3. Class Partner/Liaison Training
  1. The PTA is looking for a volunteer to help serve as the Class Liaison Coordinator. They disseminate important PTA communications to all the class liaisons who then send to class families.
  2. We also still need volunteers to serve as class liaisons. They serve as a link between the PTA, teacher and class families – communicating important information, supporting the teacher and coordinating class events. The following classes need support:
    1. Harris
    2. C. Hart
    3. Murphy
    4. Gerdes
    5. Senior
    6. Gorcica
    7. DesLonde/Solo
    8. Matthews

4. Explorers
  1. Fall session running the week of 10/03-12/12, for a total of 8 classes.
    1. Registration opens Thurs, September 22 at 8:00PM and closes Thurs, September 29 at 8:00PM
