PTA Announcements:

Sophomore Movie Night this Friday 3/22!

Attention Class of 2026: Come out for a free Sophomore Movie Night at MHS this Friday, sponsored by the MHS PTA. The student-selected movie will be Spiderman: Across the Spiderverse. Doors open at 6:30 and the movie will start at 7 pm. It’s an event you won’t want to miss.

Adult volunteers are needed to make this event a success. If you’d like to help out on Friday, please sign up ASAP here!

Nominating Committee: The PTA Executive Board will need to fill several positions for the 2024-25 school year as officers’ terms of service expire. We need to gather a Nominating Committee to start the process of choosing the officer slate. YOU can be a crucial voice in shaping the PTA. No experience needed. Please reach out to ptapres@mhs-pta.org if you are interested in serving on this committee.

In Case You Missed It! (ICYMI)

• Interim Marking Period 3 report cards were released last Friday 3/15 in Genesis. Please check on your student’s progress, and reach out to teachers if you have questions or concerns.
• This Wednesday 3/20 and Thursday 3/21 will be Early Dismissal days (1:07 pm) for Parent-Teacher conferences. Teachers may contact families directly via email if they are requesting a conference, and parents can request a conference under the Conferences tab on Genesis. If you are unsure as to whether a conference is needed, please reach out to their teacher(s) on email.
• Upcoming dates for spring events have been announced. Details will be released soon:
  • Junior Prom will be held on Thursday, April 25.
  • Senior Prom will be held on Tuesday, May 28
  • Freshman/Sophomore Spring Dance will be held on Friday, June 7.

Upcoming Events: Parkside Social Dine and Donate for the Class of 2026: The Class of 2026 is excited to host a Dine & Donate event at the Parkside Social on Thursday, March 28th from 4 – 10 pm. The Parkside Social is located at 706 Bloomfield Ave in Verona. Please bring or show the flyer to your server to ensure they donate 15% of your total bill to MHS. Please note the following: 1) Reservations are highly encouraged and can be booked here. 2) Without a reservation, The Parkside Social cannot guarantee seating. If you are unable to get a reservation, please call the restaurant directly. 3) The bar area is first come, first serve, full service. April Clothing Drive: Are you planning on doing some spring closet cleaning? If so, please donate to our April Clothing Drive! The Class of 2026 is hosting a clothing drive on Sunday, April 28th from 9 am to 1 pm at the Main Entrance to MHS. We will be collecting used clothing, accessories, and household items. All items must be placed in plastic bags. Simply pull up in the front circle and we’ll unload for you! This is a ONE DAY ONLY event.

Join the PTA! We would love to have you join us — parents, teachers/staff, students, and community members are all welcome! There will be lots of opportunities for events, volunteer work, and service to our community. Have ideas?
