At that meeting, we will also adopt the MHS PTA Standing Rules, which can be reviewed here.

On May 1, 2024 the Nominating Committee of Trente Miller, June Raegner and Amy Uhlfelder announced the slate of candidates for the following opening positions for the MHS PTA Executive Board. This term is from July 1, 2024 – June 30, 2026.  If elected, these board members will serve along with the current executive board members with terms that continue through June 30, 2025. Anyone interested in running from the floor of the meeting should reach out to info@mhs-pta.org by the end of the day on June 1, 2024.

Our nominated slate of new officers:

  • John Sullivan – Co-President

John Sullivan is honored and excited to be nominated for the position of co-president. He has thoroughly enjoyed his year serving as VP and is proud of the PTA initiatives that seek to connect students and teachers to the community and local organizations on projects that promote volunteerism and campus physical space initiatives. John is looking forward to another big year as his sons enjoy their one year of overlap with Andrew as a freshman and Ryan as a senior!

  • Jodi Holmes – VP  Events

Hello! My name is Jodi Holmes, and I’m running for the position of Vice President of Events. I’m a proud mother of a rising Senior and an incoming Freshman. I have spent the last two years volunteering on the dance committee, where I worked with students, parents, and caregivers to plan and decorate some fantastic school dances, such as the Freshman/Sophomore and Homecoming dances, and this year’s 8th-grade dance at Glenfield. Additionally, I chaired the SATP Hillside Cares Committee at Hillside Elementary for two years and volunteered at many school events. My ultimate goal is to collaborate with students and parent/caregiver volunteers to create unforgettable events at the high school. I’m thrilled to have the opportunity to serve our school community and contribute to making our students’ high school experience even more memorable.

  • Lewis B Jenkins III – VP-at-Large

VP-at-Large Lewis B. Jenkins III is a dynamic professional with an extensive background spanning over two decades across multiple domains including education, operations management, community engagement, and support. Currently serving as the Vice Principal of a middle school in Newark, New Jersey, Lewis plays a pivotal role in shaping the educational landscape and ensuring equitable access to quality education for all students. Originally hailing from the Bronx, New York, Lewis later moved to Uniondale, New York as a teen, and now resides in Montclair, NJ with his wife and two sons where he has served as a volunteer soccer coach for four years.

  • Susan Gardner Zartman – VP Communications

Hi! I am Susan Gardner Zartman and I have two children (MHS freshman and Hillside third grader) and I am running for the Vice President – Communications position. I believe my professional experience (communications/project management) and past school/PTA volunteering provide the skills necessary to fulfill the VP Communications role. Before moving into MPSD, I served three years at my children’s school as a PTO Secretary (2016-2019) and then served as Hillside VP Events (2019-2020), Nishuane VP Events & Membership (2020-22) and as Glenfield Recording Secretary (2021-23) and I am currently on the SEPAC Board. I look forward to serving on the MHS PTA Board, working with the parent community and supporting the MHS students, faculty and staff.

  • Stella Psaroudakis – VP Class of 2026

Stella Psaroudakis is a mother of two students in the Montclair Public School system, and previously held a Co-VP role with the Buzz Aldrin Middle School PTA.
