MHS BEAUTIFICATION DAY / PHASE II

On Saturday, September 21, over 25 volunteers came out to have an inspiring day of placemaking on Phase II of the MHS Campus Beautification Project (VIDEO)the Midland Avenue Benches and Garden project. Volunteers removed weeds and extra sod, planted grasses, trees and flowers, mulched multiple areas and stained all of the picnic tables.

Placemaking (noun/verb) : an overarching idea and a hands-on community-led approach for improving a schoolyard, neighborhood, city, or region, placemaking inspires people to collectively reimagine and reinvent public spaces as the heart of every community.

SPECIAL THANKS to Paul from Buildings & Grounds for cutting the sod circles and to MHS carpentry teacher Mr. Haas for building these great benches with his students!

THANK YOU to the Parent and Student Volunteers!

MHS VOLUNTEER FAIR 2024

Friday, October 18, 1:45-3:45 pm in the MHS Main Cafeteria

Do you work for a local nonprofit organization and need volunteers? Then sign up your organization to participate in this year’s Volunteer Fair!

The goal of the MHS Volunteer Fair is to provide a way for students to learn about and meet with representatives of local nonprofit organizations looking for volunteers. The students often seek volunteer hours, many for National Honor Society membership,  and opportunities to volunteer during the end of their senior year through the CIP (senior option) placement program. The CIP session runs every weekday for 5 weeks beginning in late May, 2025.

Questions? Please contact the MHS PTA at Johnsullivan73@gmail.com or Eileen@montclairfoundation.org. Thank you!
