CATCH A “SPARK!” THIS THURSDAY!

Catch a “SPARK!” Support some special Montclair principals and teachers in MFEE’s Story Salon on April 10th!

The Montclair Fund for Educational Excellence (MFEE) is thrilled to be collaborating with Montclair Story Salon for “SPARK!” — a storytelling event to benefit our “Arts Open Hearts” initiatives. Ticket sales and donations to this event allow MFEE to invest in programs that empower students to find their own creative spark.

Date: Thursday, April 10th
Time: 7:00 PM
Location: First Congregational Church, Montclair, NJ
Tickets: $45

Hosted by Liz Samuel, founder and producer of Montclair Story Salon, “SPARK!” will showcase a diverse array of performances, with local talent coming together to celebrate creativity and community.

Featured storytellers include:
Jim Axelrod, the renowned news correspondent and Montclair resident
Denise Patrick, award-winning author, doll maker, and Montclairian
Dr. Frances Aboushi, the dynamic principal of Bradford Elementary School
Miranda Ferris Jones, the talented singer-songwriter and vocal coach
Nina Lorusso, an inspiring dance teacher at Renaissance Middle School
Bridget Placek, former public school educator and co-president of MFEE Board

In addition, there will be a live art demonstration by Buzz Aldrin Middle School art teacher Arin Leard, who will create a one-of-a-kind work of art during the evening. This piece will then be auctioned off to raise funds for MFEE. Through “Arts Opens Hearts,” MFEE leverages the arts to boost students’ social and emotional wellness. MFEE pilots initiatives to foster connection, build confidence, and provide an outlet for self-expression for students in Montclair Public Schools. As rates of anxiety and depression among youth continue to rise, our students need these programs now more than ever. Tickets are limited. Please join us and/or donate! https://givebutter.com/ArtsOpenHearts
