Good evening!
Welcome to this week’s PTA Pulse. Consider this your go-to resource for what’s ahead this week at Northeast – and beyond – and how you can get involved.
If you’re new to the Northeast PTA, welcome! Allow us to introduce you to our fearless PTA leaders, Lauren Griffin and Sabrina Brewer:
Don’t they look elegant in feathers? When it comes to running the PTA, Lauren and Sabrina put the A+ in PTA. They’re both teachers by trade and have been Northeast parents for years. They bring the perfect blend of compassion, can-do attitude, energy, real talk, and Northeast know-how to the table to ensure the PTA not only makes things happen but has fun doing it. We’re super lucky to have them at the helm.
To kick off the school year, we asked Lauren and Sabrina five questions about Northeast to get to know them a bit better. Here’s what they had to say:
What’s Next at Northeast |
-September 15-October 15: National Hispanic Heritage Month. Happy Hispanic Heritage Month (which began today)! Northeast is proud to recognize our Hispanic/Latino/a/x families and staff throughout the year and especially during the month-long celebration. Students will celebrate with projects and activities that highlight the culture, traditions, and contributions of Hispanic and Latino/a/x communities. -September 28, 9 am-12 pm: 5th Grade Car Wash & Bake Sale. The annual 5th Grade Car Wash & Bake Sale is back! Funds raised directly support the 5th grade graduation. -October 8, 6 pm-7:30 pm: Back to School Night. Led by Dr. Putrino and a chance for parents to meet their children’s teachers, meet other parents, and get more familiar with Northeast. It’s advised for kids to stay home. -October 16, 6:30 pm-8 pm: First General PTA Meeting. This is an important meeting to attend! Dr. Putrino & the PTA will discuss the budget. We need an attendance quorum to then vote on it. -October 18, 6 pm-9 pm: Film on the Field. Start unfurling the lawn chairs and grab your popcorn — save the date for one of Northeast’s favorite evenings under the stars. -November 2, 2 pm-5 pm: Global Fall Festival. This vibrant event will bring harvest festivals from around the world to life with food, cultural performances, music, games, crafts, and fun for all ages. For a full and updated line-up of upcoming events, please visit the Northeast PTA website. We’re still looking for volunteers to step up to chair upcoming events. This is a fantastic way to get involved and drive real impact for our kids and entire Northeast community. That’s all from us for now! Don’t forget you can email us questions or ideas any time at northeastPTAmontclair@gmail.com. And make sure to head to the PTA website and follow Northeast Elementary on Facebook. Information is shared in these forums frequently. Warmly, Lauren Griffin & Sabrina Brewer, Co-Presidents |
