Fellow Northeast Families,

REGISTRATION LINK: https://forms.gle/q2NKyMK8qRdnYdFs9
Note on Teams / Individual Registration:
Children do NOT need to be already part of a team to register. If your child is interested in participating in the GeoBee, fill out the individual child registration, and we will use our best efforts to match them with a team in their grade group. If you have a team of 2, please register each child individually and send a separate email to Melissa & Ashu. We will pair them together and use our best efforts to find a 3rd team member.
Our goal is to get all Northeast students engaged in the 2024 GeoBee!

Help Make This Year’s GloBALL The Best One Yet!
We’re reaching out in regard to Northeast’s biennial Gala – The GloBALL. Lara, Meagan (both in the cc line of this email), and I have the pleasure of serving as K-grade liaisons this year for all things GloBALL. We’ll communicate regular updates to keep you in the loop and share ways you can get involved to make this event the most memorable and successful yet.
First things first: Mark your calendars! This year’s GloBALL will be Friday, February 23, 2024. It’ll occur here at the Montclair Art Museum (MAM).
For those asking what the GloBALL is, it’s a sans-kids evening gala that serves as our PTA’s largest fundraiser. It’s a chance to connect with the Northeast community more deeply, an excuse to get dressed up, and an invaluable way to raise funds for our school.
The GloBALL helps raise funds throughout the evening via several different initiatives: 1) A live and silent auction, 2) Themed auction baskets, and 3) The selling of tickets to parties that Northeast parents volunteer to host.
Donations and hand-raising from Northeast parents power all of these fundraising initiatives. Here is where we can all help!
1. Donating big-ticket items for the live and silent auction. We’re looking for donations of exclusive experiences and goods. Think of things you yourself would be eager to bid on. Past examples of meaningful donations include:
- Experiences you have access to securing via personal relationships like tickets to the Super Bowl, SNL, Grammys, Broadway, and concerts. Local angles are also great, especially if you can help arrange a bespoke experience – for example, a private tasting with a chef in town.
- Access to vacation homes or timeshares – let us know if there’s a weekend or week you’d be willing to give away your keys!
- Physical goods like a free trial gym membership or company products.
2. Donating items to themed auction baskets. There will also be themed baskets to bid on at the GloBALL. Each grade is assigned a different continent and puts together a basket filled with donated items that represent that continent. Our K continent this year is “North America”. We’re working on a more specific angle for “North America”-themed donations and will be in touch soon to give you more guidance. Any suggestions in the meantime are certainly welcome!
3. Hosting a themed party. During the event, we will be selling tickets to parties that Northeast parents offer to host at their houses. These parties can be whatever size and theme you choose and are a fun way to meet more of the Northeast community and simultaneously raise funds for the PTA.
That’s all from us for now! More details and information to come. Please reach out to us if you have any initial suggestions on donations or questions. (Northeastptamontlcair@gmail.com) And don’t forget to save the date for Friday, February 23!
Warmly,
Lauren, Lara, and Meagan
