**Help Us Make Our Annual STEM Fair Amazing!**
Hello, Renaissance families! We hope you’re all doing well! We wanted to reach out because some of our links were having a little trouble, and we want to ensure you have all the information you need.
Our annual STEM Fair is just around the corner, and we’re so excited to see all the fantastic projects your student(s) have been working on! This year, we could use your help to make this event extra special. If you have some time to spare or any donations or materials you can share, we would greatly appreciate it!
We’ve set up a Sign-Up Genius for volunteer opportunities and are hosting a fun 50/50 raffle to support the fair. If you can, please take a moment to check out our requests and see how you might be able to lend a hand.
Thank you so much for your support—we can’t wait to celebrate our young scientists and their fantastic work together!
Warmly,
Emily Cullen, Dr. Justin Davis, Carrie Hittel, and the Renaissance PTA
Each year, Renaissance competes in the New Jersey Science Olympiad, a fun way for students to explore everything from tower building and catapults to fossils and bugs! As registration and supply costs continue to rise, it’s more important than ever that we provide our students with the materials they need to shine and compete with their peers throughout the state.
If you have a moment, please consider helping us by purchasing an item or two:
We need a few friendly parent volunteers to make this event a huge success! Below is a link to our Sign-Up Genius and wish list. The Sign-Up Genius is for those who can come in and help students assemble their boards—it’s first come, first served!
For the Sign-Up Genius, we’re looking for parents who want to help guide students as they bring their projects to life. Some students might not have materials at home, and others might just benefit from a little extra support. We decided to reach out for parent help this year because last year, many students still found it a bit tricky even after teachers explained everything.
Here are a few things we found students sometimes struggled with at the end:
– Laying out all components before they start gluing.
– Checking the rubric to make sure no sections are missing.
– Using a glue stick instead of liquid glue.
– Printing titles rather than using a Sharpie on the board.
– Choosing colorful construction paper instead of plain white printer paper for a more eye-catching display.
Thanks again for your incredible support! We truly appreciate it and can’t wait for an unforgettable STEM Fair!
