- The Montclair Special Education Parent Advisory Council (SEPAC) is a group of parents, professionals and concerned community members with a shared interest in and concern for special education issues.
- SEPAC groups are mandated by State statute to exist in each NJ school District.
- SEPAC strives to improve the educational process and experience for children in need of special education and related services and promotes the inclusion of children with disabilities, with the necessary supports, within their schools and the community at large.
- SEPAC offers advocacy, education, resources and support to students/families of students with disabilities/special education needs.
- SEPAC meets regularly with the administrators of the Montclair Public Schools special education programs to provide input, raise and resolve concerns, and ensure that issues affecting children with special needs are given the attention they deserve.
- SEPAC liaisons support each of the Montclair public schools by connecting SEPAC with the school administration, PTA and families.
- SEPAC holds open monthly meetings, often featuring topical experts, and member gatherings where families can share information, experiences and concerns.
- No membership is required. For questions or to be added to the confidential email list to receive information about upcoming events, please contact MontclairSEPAC@gmail.com.
