The Watchung PTA is an organization of parent volunteers that seeks to strengthen our school community, support our teachers, and enrich the experience of our students. Our primary initiatives fall under the categories of building community and creating enrichment opportunities for students and staff, as well as raising the funds necessary to support PTA programs and events.
MEET THE BOARD:
Tracey Santarcangelo, Co-President:
Tracey Santarcangelo has a son in 4th grade and a daughter in 2nd grade. Over the past 4 years she has been active in the Watchung community taking on the role of SEPAC Parent Liaison, organized Movie Night, Chair of the Watchung Cares committee and class parent. Tracey enjoys meeting new people, coffee in the morning, and going on walks (you’ll often see her around the Watchung neighborhood before the end of the school day).
Elizabeth Stotler, Co-President:
With a 2nd grader and incoming Kindergartner at Watchung, this is Elizabeth’s third year volunteering with the MPS and her first as a member of the PTA’s executive team. A former creative marketing, events and communications gal, Elizabeth has been managing the PTA website and fundraising site platform along with co-chairing the Halloween Hoopla. When not volunteering at school events, she can be found painting colorful flowers in her studio.
Lauren Koueiter, Secretary:
Lauren Koueiter ("cuter") has been a Watchung parent for nine years; her three boys are in second, fifth and eighth grade. Lauren brings creativity, energy and big, crazy ideas to the table like "Munch Madness". She also runs the Talent Show with her husband and family, leads a Bike Bus route, performs guerilla gardening on Watchung grounds, and volunteers at school at every opportunity. If she's not at Watchung, you can find her teaching yoga to young children at several schools around town.
Marsia Lazatin, Treasurer:
Marisa is a mom to a 5th grader at Watchung and a 1st grader at Nishuane. Marisa has volunteered at Watchung for many events over the past 5 years, including co-chairing the Casino Night Fundraiser in 2023, and she is excited to use her finance skills to be the Treasurer on the PTA’s executive team. Marisa looks forward to working with other parents, teachers, and school administrators to support and strengthen the Watchung community.
