CHB Virtual MLK Day On! Celebration
Monday, January 18th – 10 AM – 11 AM
The CHB PTA is proud to present this year’s CHB Virtual MLK Day On! celebration. Even though we’re not able to meet in person, we still want to celebrate Dr. King’s legacy through education and acts of service.
This year, our students are working on virtual artwork that will be delivered to local Montclair seniors. We will also have a virtual event at 10 AM on MLK Day to learn more about his legacy and how we can continue his work.
This year’s theme will be “Being Anti-Racist” with a focus on learning how our families can actively fight racism in our communities.
We’re excited for what will be a fun-filled event with plenty to learn for the entire family.

CHB MLK Day: Donations needed!
CHB will be celebrating the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King on Monday the 18th. As part of that celebration, the school has always focused on acts of service that our families can do in our community. This year, the senior centers that we usually partner with have given us a list of items that the seniors are in need of. We would LOVE if our CHB community can show up and show out with providing donations of these toiletry items:
Toothpaste
Toothbrushes
Body Wash
Soap
Deodorant
Dental Floss
Shampoo/Conditioner
Hand Sanitizer
Puzzle books
We have three drop off locations. You can drop off any of these items at any of the locations between now and Sunday evening and volunteers will package it with artwork from our CHB students and deliver them to the seniors on Monday.
Alternatively, if you wish, you can also make a donation via Venmo @CHB-PTA
and we will use the funds to purchase additional of the above items.

A Forum on Dyslexia – Resources + Zoom Recording.On January 7, 2021, the Montclair PTAC Community Building Committee and SEPAC co-hosted a Forum on Dyslexia. The following are resources that were shared by the presenters:
1. Norma Francullo: Diagnosed with Dyslexia PPT 2020.
2. Marcos Vargas: Dyslexia Screening and Procedures Handbook
3. Dee Rosenberg and Susan Miller: Dyslexia Parent Presentation for Montclair 2020.
