Each event at Edgemont is planned and staffed fully by volunteers. Check back often for volunteer signups for each event. In addition, you can volunteer to be a Class Parent or a Committee Chair.
How do I sign up to volunteer?
We need volunteers for every event. You can become a PTA volunteer by reaching out to info@edgemontpta.org, or by reaching out to any member of the board or Committee Chairs directly. Let us know your skills, talents and interest and we will do our best to find something that you will enjoy doing! Volunteering is good for your head, your heart, and your community.
What does it mean to be a Class Parent?
A class parent is the parent leader for each classroom. We try to have two class parents per class. Your role is to support teachers, cultivate community across the classroom, and liaise with the PTA for all of the events and volunteering needs across the year. Class parents also organize teachers’ gifts given by the classroom and support the creation of fundraising baskets for our spring fundraiser, STEAM POP!. Class parents meet regularly (ideally monthly) with PTA board members and one another to facilitate communication in the school.
What are PTA Committees? What does it mean to be a Committee Chair?
Committee chairs take a leadership role running various events. There is a lot to get done throughout the school year, and the committee chair takes responsibility leading and executing an initiative. Here is a list of all of the committees that make up the Edgemont PTA. If you see a committee that interests you, please email the committee chair for more more information!
