Looking Back at a Remarkable 2023/2024 – Thank You!

Thank You to all of our PTA committee chairs, volunteers, the administration, teachers, staff and donors. Your collaboration, continued support and partnership have been invaluable! Thank you for all the time, energy, and enthusiasm throughout the school year. We couldn’t have done it without you!

Here are some of the things we accomplished together:

SATp activities including Apple Crunch Challenge, Bike/Walk to School, Hispanic Heritage Month, Native American Heritage Month, MLK Day of Service, Lunar New Year, Black History Month, Pennies for Pages, Women’s History Month, Wellness Fair, Arab American Heritage Month, AANHPI Heritage Month, Jewish American Heritage Month, Pride, Neurodiversity and Autism Acceptance Month, Caribbean Heritage Month, Juneteenth Celebration, Kindness and Justice Challenge, Author visits, and Assemblies
OneNish! provided $3,550 in Thanksgiving grocery card gift cards; holiday giving to families, Clothing swap
3 cycles of Explorers (net over $36k)
Kindergarten ice pop social and summer playdates for all grades
Book Fair (over $17k books sold)
Pancake breakfast (net ~$6k)
School tours
Nish Caregivers Party
Family Dance
Culturally responsive books for the Nish library
Hospitality Committee staff appreciation lunches and Valentine’s treats
Grow Lab monthly in-class lessons, fall clean up, spring mulching, planting and beautification
Spring art and music classes for Pre-K students
Mayfair
2nd grade moving up, transition to Hillside picnic, t-shirts and yearbook
Recordings of the play productions

Explorers Fall Session – Registration Opens September 18

Early Bird Fall registration opens on Monday, September 18 at 8:00pm for all PTA members. Please join or renew your annual PTA membership here

General registration opens on Tuesday, September 19th at 8pm

Explorers Winter Session – Registration Opens January 18

Explorers Winter 2023 Class Catalog is now available!

Winter class registration opens at 8 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 18, and runs through Sunday, Jan. 22. Classes will begin the week of Jan. 30 and run for six weeks.

2022-23 District School Calendar Updated

On July 13, 2022, the Montclair Board of Education updated the 2022-23 school year calendar and made the following notable adjustments:

First Day of School is now Tuesday, September 6 instead of Wednesday, September 7.
School is closed on Monday, October 24 for Diwali.
Spring Break is now April 3-7 instead of April 10-14, 2023.
School will be open on Friday, May 26 instead of being closed for Memorial Day weekend.
Last day of school is Thursday, June 22 (a half day) instead of the last day on Tuesday, June 27.

Aesthetics Registration will open in Genesis at 4 pm on TODAY and will close at 4pm on June 14th.

For the cycle(s) and day(s) that you are not already scheduled you MUST select 6 ranked choices AND
4 alternate choices, or the system will reject your selections.
