More details and background

Montclair Special Education Parent Advisory Council (SEPAC) is a volunteer group of parents and guardians that provides support and information to parents and caregivers of children with special needs. Each district board of education is charged under the New Jersey Special Education Code to ensure that a special education parent advisory group is in place to provide input to the district on issues concerning students with disabilities.

IEP stands for Individualized Education Program.

An IEP is a written plan developed in accordance with the Individuals with Disabilities in Education Act (IDEA) to address the educational and other needs of a child with a disability while attending school. The IEP outlines the specialized instruction and related services the student is entitled to receive to insure that she/he/they receive a free and appropriate public education (FAPE).
