After School Enrichment Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
What is the NE’s After School Enrichment program?
NE’s After School Enrichment program offers students the opportunity to have fun and learn a new skill or brush up on an old one through hands-on activities and classes. Enrichment is open to K - 5th graders in the Fall. This is a non-academic program.
What sort of classes does After School Enrichment offer?
Examples of some of the classes offered are Tinker Lab, Craft Crazy, and Tae Kwon Do.
How do I register?
Registration takes place online only and will start September 12th at 10am. Please do not call the school directly as this is a PTA-run program, and the school office does not handle the registration.
What is the fee per student?
Classes that require substantial materials are between $185-$200 for a 7-week program.
*No child will be excluded because of financial limitations. Financial assistance is available. Please contact the PTA northeastptamontclair@gmail.com
Where does the money go?
Enrichment is a fundraiser for the PTA.
What are the days/hours of After School Enrichment?
NE’s 7-week enrichment classes are held on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays this Fall. Classes run from 3:00-4:00pm. There is an additional week added to the schedule to accommodate for weather or otherwise. No refunds will be offered.
Who is responsible for my child(ren) during the Enrichment program?
The NE Afterschool Enrichment program is run mainly by volunteers. If you are interested in volunteering, please contact the coordinators at neafterschoolenrichment@gmail.com
What time should I pick up my child(ren)?
Enrichment ends promptly at 4:00pm. Please be on time for pickup.
Can I teach a class?
Yes! Email neafterschoolenrichment@gmail.com to discuss your idea for a class.
What is the ASE mask protocol?
The same protocol for the school applies to ASE.
My child has a medical concern. Is the school nurse available during the Enrichment program?
Because our program is run outside of school hours, the school nurse is NOT available during the Enrichment Program. This means we will not have access to her office (for example, any epi-pens that are kept there will be unavailable to us during the program). In case of emergency, our parent\guardian volunteers have been instructed to call 911 and then the person listed as the Emergency Contact on the registration form.
